DAY 129

Photobucket

Haldan asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day and I told him I wanted to go to the Tulip Festival in Pella. So, today that's what we did. It's a 2 hour drive one way, but it was worth it. Pella is a very unique, well maintained community. The entire festival is centered around their Dutch heritage and I think every single member of the community dressed the part, clogs and all. Their parade was great. It was even narrated over loud speakers. There are no fields of tulips, but they can be found in abundance all over town. I studied my camera's manual on the way there, particularly about depth of field. I tried some new settings today and love the result. For any of you who use an SLR you know how hard it is to get a whole frame of flowers in focus. This isn't perfect, but I also didn't take multiple shots to attain this result. It's just one and it makes the photo of the day.

  2. That sounded like fun. I have wanted to go. When we lived in Michigan, we would visit the town Holland. It was always beautiful. If you like tulips then you would like this town.
