It only took 7 years to figure our cloning in photoshop. And truth be told, I totally dumbed into it one day when my laptop was wigging out. It’s the coolest tool I’ve yet to play with. Granted, I’m sure there are way cooler out there and I am in no form any photoshop expert. What I am is an amateur trying to muddle my way to finer photos, just like the rest of you.
This is not a tutorial because there’s not really much to say besides push the alt then the clone button and go to town.
But I thought I’d share some of my more recent attempts with the clone tool. See if you can figure out what I removed in each photo?
Wouldn't it be great if we could push a clone button and duplicate ourselves?
I'm having one of those days. I think it's called trip hangover mixed with a healthy dose of reality.
That's definitely one of my favorite tools. Nice pics and edits!
ReplyDeleteI love the clone tool... What great pictures you have here..
ReplyDeletehmmm, I miss winter (already).
ReplyDeleteI see a snowmobile track (or a horzontal line from something else) missing from the first one.
The second one has a retaining wall cloned out, the third one has the lines in the driveway gone, and the last one has 'things' (what would you call that?) off the dandelion.
woo hoo, what do I win?!?!
For real though, great edits, nice work with the clone tool.
the one of the 2 of you is my fave.
ReplyDeletelooks like a neat tool. I'm sure as soon as I ever buy Photoshop, they'll come out with some other waycool product. I'm so behind the times on that front!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a talented photographer!!! I LOVE me some photoshop!!! I used to totally over edit EVERYTHING!!!! Now I just use it to enhance and clone things out! Great job Alicia! I found what was missing in each photo.

ReplyDeleteGreat pics! Glad you are having fun learning something new to do with your always wonderful shots. I recently discovered picnik, and that's fun to play with, too! I add speech bubbles to lots of my pics now (some not so appropriate...).
ReplyDeleteClone? I would love one...
Very cool! The pics of you in the snow? Beautiful! You look so happy!

ReplyDeleteHi Alicia! I found your little blog today by Mckmama. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the edits! Such great pictures:)
Correct you are, the clone tool is great. Spot heal is great too. I hear the new version, CS5, can do magic by removing junk just by thinking it out! Well, I guess not *that* easy but I hear it is good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and yes, I did do a motion blur on the background.
Great job!! I must learn that clone tool!!!
ReplyDeleteThese were all really great edits and great use of the clone tool. I do wish I could use it in life.
ReplyDeleteThe black and white photos look great and I LOVE the dandelion edit!
ReplyDeletewow this is so neat! Where is the clone tool in photoshop? I don't even know where it is! These are awesome pix!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos! The pic of you in the snow is quality -- I hope you have it framed in your home.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. It's amazing what you can do with photo editing. I think I need to get myself some photoshop.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Lish! I've played around with the clone tool, but have yet to perfect it. Plus, I'm too critical of my own photos and can't get over knowing that the flaw was actually there. lol I'd love to choose a favorite, but to be honest with you I love every. single. photo. lol
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fabulous day. It's been cuh-razy around here with all four kids home. Send help. Stat!
