And by the way, you can find me over at Drama Mama's place today talking about all the things "no one ever told me" about motherhood (plus a never before seen picture of me as big as a house). Stop by. I'd love the company.
I was living abroad in Sweden when I first heard about the free hug campaign. Scandinavians are the warmest people if you know them but strangers are just that, strangers. No "standing in the grocery line and chatting with the person in front of you just because" there! So when I saw the free HUG sign in the streets I RAN and showed them how helpful a hug can be. It was a very memorable event and I have the pics to prove it! :-) Hugging is good for the soul!
Oh free hugs! I met a free hugger two years ago and hugged him long and intense. And it was so great! Ever since that I´ve been thinking about going out on the street with my own sign. Well - my daughters say I should go to another town where nobody knows I´m related to them... sigh. But I´m really considering it, and I´m glad I found someone else who knows and loves free hugs!
*gulp* The free hug video had me in tears! Like big buckets of tears. I think I'm PMSing. That or I really need to get to bed. (It's almost 2am here.) In any case, that was beautiful. And your guest post at Drama Mama's? Very heartfelt. Thanks for turning me into a ball of mush! lol
Awww...that video warms my heart. Living in a country where hugging is not a very common gestures I really miss real hugs and try to teach my son to hugs more. Btw, how are you doing Lish? Haven't been here in ages :( Miss you, girl!
I was at a grocery store a couple of weeks ago and there were a group of college kids doing a Free Hug day. I had just had brain radiation that morning so was feeling pretty down, when the young man approach he caught me completely of guard. He gave me the longest hug I had received in years. It made my heart shine inside.
