If you missed that post, click here to read more about how the blogging community has banned together to raise money after an F5 tornado devastated the small town of Joplin, Missouri.
I'm still working out the kinks with a couple individuals, but Warren Baldwin didn't hesitate. He is a wonderful writer who combines his ministry with his work. He also generously shares the work of others in the blogging community. He has used a couple of my photos in some of his excerpts and always makes sure to let me know and link them back to me. You can see examples of my photos here or here.
You can find his button on the right. Roaring Lions, Cracking Rocks and Other Gems from Proverbs is a collection of essays based on 118 proverbs.

You can read more about it here. He writes, "Roaring Lions, Cracking Rocks and other Gems from Proverbs bring these ancient sayings into contemporary focus by applying their insights to modern situations. Marriage, parenting, friendship, work, money and other topics are brought under the scrutiny of this ancient wisdom. Each chapter in this thought-provoking book is a short essay on a specific proverb that makes God's Word come alive with fresh relevance. You'll be amazed what a roaring lion or cracking rock can mean for your life today."
The book costs $15 plus $3 for shipping. But for the month of June if you type "Alicia" in the ordering instructions, $5 of every sale will go to the Joplin tornado victims. A very generous offer! Go here to purchase the book.
Make sure to stop by and check it out and give Warren a high five while you're there. Thank you, Warren, for being so generous! I know that every dollar that is sent to Joplin will help rebuild their homes and their community!
If you are interested in advertising here, all of the proceeds for the month of June will go directly to Joplin. Send me a note at lish{at}mchsi{dot}com.
That is awesome! I'm thrilled you opened up ad space here!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a tremendous outreach and impact you are already having Alicia by opening your blog up like this. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteAlicia what you're doing for Joplin is wonderful. My in-laws live in Joplin. We were there 2 weeks ago and you cannot even imagine the devastation. The news stories and pictures are just a hint of the reality. But, you would have been amazed by the volunteers that have stepped up. People like you who are doing something just because it's the right thing to do.
ReplyDeleteAlicia,
ReplyDeleteI came over here for WW and saw this post... how wonderful that you are doing this!!! (I mention in my WW post today we have friends who have friends in Joplin; it has been heartbreaking to hear about the devastation there. I linked to the Red Cross in my post, but I'm going to tweet your post too!!!) And Warren is great; I have known him through blogging for a while now.
Hugs,
Genny
