Summer Daze Photo Party: Week 1 with FREE Collage Template

I'm so excited for the launch of our Summer Daze Photo Party! This is not a photo challenge. There are no prompts. It's just a fun way to connect and share our summer photos with a more laid back approach. Anything goes.

The last few weeks have been a blur as we've finished the last days of school and transitioned into summer. And I have a confession. I've only dug out the DSLR once since summer started. You may remember my pics from Bull's Island a couple weeks ago. I actually fell asleep at the beach and only snapped a few photos. Gasp! Other than those pics, I've relied solely on my iphone or point and shoot that I keep in my purse.

But regardless, I'm capturing our summer memories all the same.

I've decided to throw together a book of my summer memories. You can find my cover and first page here.

And for those of you who have told me you don't have time to do an album, I beg to differ. It doesn't have to be fancy or time consuming. Throw some text on a photo as you're editing and slap it on some scrapbook paper.

Or put some of your favorite photos into a collage...Photobucket

Just click on the image above to download this 4x4 grid template.  It's a PSD file. Just drag and drop your favorite papers or photos. The album I'm making is actually 6x6, but I created this template as a 12x12 size to give you more options. You can find my step by step clipping instructions here. I also have other free templates available to save you time. You can find those here.

Here's a FREE Bucket List printable compliments of Live and Love Out Loud, Bumbles and Light and myself. Just click on the image above to download the 8.5x11 jpg.

And if you'd like to customize the bucket list, here's the PSD file. Our gift to you. Enjoy.

I’m teaming up with Kristi of Live and Love out Loud and Rebecca of Bumbles & Light to bring you the Summer Daze Fun Photo Party – a 6-week photo party link-up aimed at capturing your fun summer memories.

The Summer Daze Fun Photo Party will run from June 15th – July 20th. Stop by and share your favorite summer images each Friday. Linky opens at 9am CST. Please link directly to your blog post or Flickr photo, not your homepage URL or Flickr stream. All are welcome to participate regardless of camera equipment or geographic location. Get in on the fun over on Instagram by using the #summerdaze hashtag. Please visit and comment on the previous post in the linky list.

And don’t forget to grab our button!

Yesterday I shared how to Make Beautiful Photo CDS and Packaging. If you missed it, make sure to give it a peek. Photobucket

Thanks so much for stopping by! Kristi, Rebecca, and I can't wait to see what you're up to this summer!

  1. I just love your blog. Thanks so much for the free templates {and instructions}. I had almost given up taking pictures because I was so far behind on my family album, then I found how incredibly easy digital scrapbooking is and now am almost caught up. I am so excited to capture this summer in photos. Thanks for hosting this super fun foto party.

    1. Chatty,

Go to this link >>http://www.projectalicia.com/2012/05/diy-how-to-fake-polaroids.html and really pay attention to steps 4-6. You need to make the photo take on the shape of the box by creating a clipping mask (step 6). Shortcut is CTRL + G. You also want to make sure that it is just above the clipping mask in the layers panel. Good luck. Let me know if you need further help.

  10. Awesome shots! A great template as well. June has been a really busy month as well for me so I haven't had the chance to get the camera out as much as I'd like. Looking forward to the continued coverage of your summer. Hope you had a great weekend!
